Thanks to original poster. I got a 9000$ a was able to clear 2 credit cards.

I have 2400$ left on the card and they sent me 3 checks and a mention of 0% interest for 15 months (June 2012) for those checks.

Does anyone know if those checks need to be used for credit cards payments or can I write myself a check and deposit it in my bank account ?

A bank counselor just told me low interest rate on transfer such as MBNA 0% and others will soon be not possible in Canada because of something new in the canadian regulation.

True ?

Just applied for my first one. Will call on Wednesday to see if I am approved and for how much. If this works out this is amazing and I wish I had heard about it years ago.

remember u need to pay 1% bt fee, so it's $100, and then it will get taxed as income.

Does anyone think it would be better to pay off a loan with a fixed monthly payment in order to free up the payment or pay off a higher interest CC but doesn't free up much of a payment...

Higher interest should be your priority.

On to round 4......I applied for a new one even though I was offered an additional 12 months as I wanted additional credit (which I got). I suppose I could have just requested additional credit....oh well, you can't plan everything perfectly.

I received my platinum card a couple of days ago. Is it normal that the 0% promotion applies only to transfers to another credit card and not to transfers to chequing accounts, which is at 19.99%?

Look at the OP. Very certain that has been answered.
