Okay... I give up! Migrating apps from old iPod Touch to new, using current iTunes...
Bear with me here, folks... I don't spend much time in the Apple ecosystem. To preface my situation, I live in the Android/Windows world, and transferring apps/contacts/etc. has been a breeze moving from one Android phone to another (and tablets as well!) for the past decade.
However, I have a 4th gen iPod Touch that I still use for music and a couple of apps for which it's more convenient to use than my phone (my overnight white noise app, f'rinstance) I recently picked up a refurb 5th gen Touch as the battery and home button on the 4th gen aren't what they used to be... but then, neither am I!
Here's the rub. The 5th gen Touch required upgrading iTunes before it would be recognized, and the latest iTunes doesn't deal with apps.
As best as I can tell, it needs to be done via the app store on the Touch itself. Correct or not? If so, how does one transfer/migrate settings for apps?
In addition, I can't see where the hell to find something along the lines of 'My Apps' in the Touch's app store. I'm sure I'm logged in, but nuthin'...
Any suggestions? Your patience is appreciated!
