$10 Lottery bonus on OLG when you spend $15

Deal Link:
Retailer:
OLG online
I went to playolg.ca to sign up so I wouldn't have to get my weekly ticket at a store during the Covid-19 outbreak and saw this.

Image
Deal is:
Enter promo code lotto
Deposit & spend $15 or more
Get a $10 bonus.

They don't say when it expires.

On Edit: It takes a while to go through all the screens. I tried registering and got this response after uploading ID for verification:
We are experiencing an extremely high volume of verification requests resulting in a delay of 7 or more days.

They do mention that they verify with Equifax. No idea if that is a hard or soft hit. Will edit again once I know. Looks like I have to venture out into public to buy my ticket again for the big one on Tuesday.

Thread Summary
Do not use a credit card - many report high cash advance fees, essentially negating the bonus

Looks like the offer is also valid for people already registered with PlayOLG. Details are here. <--- Shows expired January 31, 2020

Won't accept my credit card when trying to buy a ticket and my bank isn't able to deposit money into an account. Thanks for the heads up, hope other people can redeem this.

Careful with using credit cards to buy the lottery ticket -- it may be considered a cash advance and that means there might be a processing fee ($3.50) and daily interest applied until it is paid off.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but is now really a good time for the OLG to be incentivizing people to spend money on lottery while we're in a health and economic crisis?!?!

It's well researched that the poorest people spend a disproportional amount of money - yet here's an Ontario Gov't agency trying to get increased sales during this crisis?!?

Well before the pandemic started I was questioning how come the OLG is spending massive amount of money to spam TV and radio non-stop with commercials - like literally every other commercial was that annoying "Dream Coach" twerp. Lottery funds were supposed to be used for community and social programs - not for endless advertising.

But during the crisis perhaps they should lay low.

I opened an account a few days ago and didn't have to do any verification. I bought a few lottomax for our group buy and no problem. I couldn't interac money in, but I did use my Visa Debit card to deposit. It's not a cash advance and directly withdraws from my bank account. Check your ATM card and see if it says Visa/Mastercard Debit on it and has the 4x4 credit card numbers. If yes, you can use it without worry.

I read this from here:
Spend a minimum of $15 on LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49 or ENCORE on PlayOLG.ca within 30 days of opting into the promotion. When you do, your bonus will convert to cash.
Full terms & conditions can be found https://www.playolg.ca/content/dam/olg/ ... fer-tcs-en
Which says:
13.The purchase requirement (“Purchase Requirement”) for this Promotion is fifteen dollars ($15.00 CAD) of PlayOLG lottery products (can be a combination of Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 or Encore). Eligible Participants may convert their Bonus Funds into cash only by satisfying the following requirements: (a) Sign into their Account; and(b) Purchase a minimum of $15 in PlayOLG lottery products within thirty (30) days of receiving the Bonus Funds.
Looks like it is available from Jan 31 to June 30.

There’s a bit more information needed to complete registration
Thank you for your interest in PlayOLG! You are receiving this message because either:
Our identity verification request to Equifax Canada did not result in a positive response or;
You previously created an account. Players are only allowed one (1) account. If this may be the case, contact Player Support.
If this is your first time registering, please follow along.
We use Equifax Canada to verify our Player’s Identity, ensure they meet the minimum age requirement and that they’re residents of Ontario. It is also important to note that you are not eligible to create a PlayOLG account if you are currently enrolled in a Self-Exclusion program at a casino in Ontario.
they only reason this interest me cuz the lotto max is 70mill! i've never seen it that huge, i might just buy tickets when i gas up at shell or something

THIS!!

I went and tried to make an account today to buy my lotto tickets (been told a lot of SDM and grocery stores won't sell the physical tickets anymore because they're afraid to handle the paper?). When I went to make a deposit I saw a disclaimer saying that the credit card may charge it as a CASH ADVANCE. I looked it up, and it's true. So frak that! If stores won't sell me a lotto ticket, I guess I won't buy.
Tis banana is IRIE 😎

You can try contacting Player Support like it says in the text you quoted:

Yeah, the $70 Mil is what got me wanting to avoid going out to the store. AFAIK there is no Covid-19 online yet. Only lots of mention of it.

I scoured their terms. Visa Debit on your bank card works with no extra charges. They mentioned the MasterCard equivalent.
Thanks for the heads up on SDM & other places not selling tickets in fear.

I want to sign up for OLG few weeks ago and I was asked to submit ID for verification like driver license or SIN number. Is there a way to bypass this or is it safe to submit it?

Td visa debit card has no fees. Direct deposit will have a fee. Mastercard and visa card will also have a fee check carefully.

Registration form only asks for First and Last names, nowhere I can key my middle initial which is on my TD Visa debit card so I couldn't load money into my account.

I got charged 5.00 through my WorldElite Rogers card for using my credit card for a 15.00 purchase on OLG. I will NOT be doing that again. I was only using the credit card because It is so frustrating because many of the interac debit/visa cards such as TD's are not accepted.

TD Visa debit (your bank access card) worked for me. TD Interac works if you have the old card (without Visa debit).
