I'm not sure it's a deal as without this "promotion", it would be the same price as the OnePlus 6T serie.

It's not a real promo, it's just a price adjustement of the "old" serie.

Many people prefer the 6 as it has a headphone jack
I thought I would be lost without the jack. How wrong I was... although I did spend about $600 on headphones...WH1000XM3 for the commute and Jaybird X3 for the gym...So there's that investment but now I'm over the jack.

What actually bothers me the most about OnePlus phones: They don't seem to understand Canadian English isn't the same as British English...after so many generations of phones, when you select Canadian English, you see Aeroplane Mode and other random British spellings in the menus.

The company also had a promo code where people who bought the 6T got $30 off accessories too (I got it when I got the 6T and gave this link to people too). Not sure if it applies here too but it might be possible.

Better off buying from one of the chinese sites for cheaper, I got the 6gb model for only $480 + $20 express shipping. 8gb/128gb model was only $60 more at the time but I didn't need it.

Canada was part of British dominion. Our English is alligned with theirs. No wonder we are the only the country in North America which speaks the correct form of English for the most part. I am not sure where you read your history but Canadian English is similar to British.

Not allowed to say since it get's censored here. Just search around. All I'll say is that the one I purchased mine from starts with a 'G' in name.

I would recommend comparing the supported bands for LTE, with the carrier you choose - some of the Chinese phones have different band support than NAS, which can occasionally make getting a strong LTE signal problematic. Source: I've bought many Samsung and other phones while on overseas trips, only to find I'm stuck with 3G in Canada!

Edit: You can see the two models (A6000 and A6003) here, and their bands: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OnePlus_6

Oneplus 6 is very good with bands (the pocophone f1 that I wanted was not, testament to your claim about chinese phones and their poor coverage), pretty much covers all the LTE carriers in Canada except wind/freedom I believe. While wind/freedom isn't fully supported, I still get a constant 50mbps on HSPA+/4G on my LTE plan somehow, thought I was going to need to switch carriers to get anything like 4G but I guess not. The OnePlus 6 covers wayyy more frequencies than most of the chinese phones I compared to when shopping around.
