With the series 9 OnePlus phones being revealed later this month, OnePlus have discounted the series 8 phones. While site says 949$ you can get an extra $100 using this code "8PRO100OFF". Pretty good deal!

I can't believe how quickly the next iteration of phones come out ... as well as how high the prices have become. I was looking at my order confirmation for OnePlus One from way back when and it was only $349 for the 64 GB version.

Charging the same price as other flag ships, but with shitty software support giving a last buggy OS and calling it end of cycle.
"Never Settle" is sure correct, on Oneplus.

You can get the regular 8 version for $699. What's the better value? Is this better than the S20FE? Looking for a new phone and looking to get the best bang for my buck. Preferably 5G style.

Again, OP phones are really good, but are they 1k good? I have the 7Pro ... Think it was around the 1k mark, love the pop up camera :)

In the Andriod world where else do you go? Samsung .. I hate their cartoonish interface even though the phones are decent. Also they aren't exactly cheap.

Without software support, what is the worst that could go wrong? Security?

My vote is for the S20FE unless cleaner software matters to you. OnePlus software is really a lot cleaner than Samsung. But Samsung camera is way ahead. Depends on what is important to you.

Oneplus is a bit of a special case because starting with Oneplus 3, they started putting out new phones twice a year, and not even at 6 month intervals... more like 8 and 4 months for the T version.

Now with the 8 and Nord, looks like they'll be putting out at least 3 phones a year.

My question about the Oneplus 8 Pro, is the 3rd monochrome camera still disabled? So they're shipping a phone with 3 lenses on the back but one of them won't even work?

Yes...
Someone will stalk your wife, gf, daughter
Deep fake your face onto porn.
Financial identity theft (It'll be a lot of hassle for you even if you still have your money...the various processes you need to go through at multiple FIs)
Sell your stock investment, buy really bad stocks instead
...etc.

I'm wondering if dual sim works in this model? From https://www.oneplus.com/ca_en/8-pro
Single 5G SIM support only. Upgrade for 5G or 4G dual SIM support will be implemented via OTA update. Please confirm 5G network availability with your carrier.
Does this mean dual sim 5G isn't supported, or dual sim in general?

If code worked on the 8, I would order one stat!! Anything code wise for the 8. Comparing them the 8 would work fine for me but the camera of either would come up short against my P30 Pro. A good camera I have learned to really like as well as great battery life
