Are each of the 36 packs, all the same bottles, or are they a mixture?

I was just thinking that I'd like to try that one, but don't want 36 for my first purchase. Wish this was a mixed 36. Like 6 bottles each of 6 styles. I would definitely jump on that!! (In case Waterloo Brewing happens to read these posts.)

For those wondering how these beer taste for $1.38 a bottle, here are the ratings, courtesy of beeradvocate.com, along with what that rating means (e.g poor, fair, good, world-class, etc..)

1. Waterloo IPA: 2.97/5 - "poor"
2. Waterloo Pilsner: 3.16/5 - "okay"
3. Waterloo Dark: 3.11/4 - "okay"

At that price, I would drink it when I'm going on a bender, but not to enjoy a good beer after work. :)

Just browsed beeradvocate.com's top (250) list and I don't think I recognized anything

So either I'm a beer idiot or this site doesn't represent Ontario

Thumbs up for Waterloo Dark, but it's definitely not a everyday beer for me

Thanks OP! I have had all 3 of these Waterloo beers and I think they are very drinkable. I'm not a big drinker of dark beers outside of the winter months, but would happily drink the IPA or Pilsner in this weather. $3.68 / 1L of beer (bottle deposit extra) is a solid value deal for Ontario. Normal Beer Store "value brand" pricing for 24 brown bottles of beer is $33.35 which yields a $3.95 / 1L beer (deposit extra). BUT I think my favourite value play right now is the Faxe Amber Lager for $3.50 / 1L if you purchase it as single cans ($1.75 per 500mL can - deposit extra). It's funny because the Beer Store (owned by a cartel of foreign booze companies) has this sign by the cash register that you save an average of $9 when you buy a 24 of beer. But since they jacked the base price of a "value" 24 to $33.35 (deposit extra) the 500mL cans can often kick the cr4p out of a 24 of brown bottles for value pricing. Shhhhh… don't let the cartel know that you can do math too...

OK So the range on the reviews is 2.97 - 3.16 on a scale of 5. They are all in the same zone of enjoyment. It is quite arbitrary to call the IPA "poor tasting" while labelling the others as "okay". They all yield a relatively similar level of enjoyment to the type of beer drinker who leaves feedback on beeradvocate.com :)

Did you use the filters to narrow it down to Ontario?

Huh???

I think you're confusing the beeradvocate.com word ratings for me personally saying something..which I'm not - I'm just reporting the data.

I don't control what the threshold is on beeradvocate.com for when a beer jumps from being listed as "poor" to "okay", or subsequently from "okay" to "good", etc....Here's their system so you know why one was "okay" while the other two were "poor":

4.50 - 5.00 = World-Class
4.25 - 4.49 = Outstanding
4.00 - 4.24 = Exceptional
3.75 - 3.99 = Very Good
3.50 - 3.74 = Good
3.00 - 3.49 = Okay
2.00 - 2.99 = Poor
1.00 - 1.99 = Awful

It's possible that there needs to be a minimum number of reviews before a beer can be considered for the Top 250 list. So there could be an amazing beer (like something from Milwoods) that only has a handful of reviews..It might get an overall score of 4.8/5.0, but doesn't have enough reviews to be considered.

I don't know that for certain - just a possibility. Which Ontario beers do you consider the best, flaming homer??

Is their IPA an actual hoppy IPA? Or is it more like Keith's?
