When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford, responding to comments on social media about his hair, said Tuesday that after looking like ‘a sheepdog’ for some time, gave his daughter who lives at home a pair of clippers and said to ‘go to town.’ People were questioning on social media where he got his hair cut given personal hair services are closed during the stay-at-home order in the province.BeaverLiquor wrote: ↑ Ford looks less shaggy, wonder where/how he got his hair cut from (YouTube hopefully)?

Beyond that, just a few years ago the police were thrown under the bus on carding. Now the government that threw them under the bus is telling them to resume the practice. Logically, the police do not want to be political pawns to absorb the blowback from law abiding tax payers.

From the Ottawa Police:

The bolding is mineNew Authority: Under the updated orders, police have the authority to stop and make inquiries of individuals who are out in public spaces and not at their home address (pedestrians, motorists, occupants of vehicles, etc.) to assess if the person is in compliance with the Stay-at-Home order. This authority requires such individuals to provide the officer(s) with their home address and purpose for leaving their home.
The OPS will not be conducting random stops. We will be taking a deliberate and careful approach that emphasizes equity, legality, and efficacy in the application of these authorities with the specific and exclusive purpose to support public health measures.
Interprovincial Crossings: Effective Monday, April 19, 2021 at 12:01 a.m, the government is also restricting travel into Ontario from the provinces of Manitoba and Quebec with the exception of purposes such as work, health care services, transportation and delivery of goods and services or exercising Aboriginal or treaty rights. The OPS is working with its policing partners on operational plans at interprovincial bridges in the Ottawa area and more information will be available by Sunday evening.

The police don't have the resources for this type of enforcement. The only way this would have a remote chance of being enforced is if the war measures act was implemented and they brought the military in and even then they'd need the entire military.
Add to that that if they don't have the minds and spirits of the police and military to enforce these measures they've lost before they even start.

Can't the police just scan your license plate and question why you are in this region? I mean sure if you have work then drive to work with the letter but if you just wanted to travel to a family member who lives in Mississauga and you live in Brampton then the cops can pull you over and give a ticket no? I think this whole new restrictions is crap
just close the dam airport and watch case counts drop!

I saw a ton of cops out on my drive this morning - but as per tradition, they were hanging out in parking lots and chatting.

I think realistically... some might get caught in the cracks.nielboy wrote: ↑ The police don't have the resources for this type of enforcement. Hey maybe my mama needs some aspirin in the middle of the night bc of a migraine. She don’t drive & she 70. I go pick it up up @ a 24/7 gas station.
They see a young brother driving around @ midnight, they’ll be thinking i’m up to no good! Then boom. I get pulled over and ticketed. & don’t even think about getting lippy... thats for sure gonna be a beat down.
Sometimes i go for drives @ night to relax... yah weird habit. I’m cruising. I’m not visiting any body. My cough isnt gonna fly through the car interior and infect everyone.
