Ontario Safety- Water Pump Would Have Been Checked?
Question... I bought a car from a dealership 2 months ago.
The car was overheating recently so brought it to a mechanic. They asked if I had recently had work done on the car, I said no, I had just bought it two months ago, etested and safetied.
Well it turns out someone had screwed up the replacement of the water pump very badly and had basically broken the tool it sits on and repaired it terribly and cheaply. They had to put in a bunch of extra time fixing it. I have an invoice from the mechanic that goes into detail as to what was wrong so I have proof.
My question is- the dealership says they never did the water pump. From what the mechanic was saying, I believed that the water pump *must* have been replaced to pass the safety but perhaps this isn't true.
Is there a list somewhere of what the Ontario safeties check for? Would they not have checked the water pump?
Thank you!
