Opinions on photo light boxes/tents

Thinking of getting one for product and/or bug photography. What are your experiences with them? Are they worth it and which would you recommend?

I got a cheap one from ebay, works great if you have the right lights.

Quality does not change much from using bristle boards from Dollarama

I need one of these, but all I could find has a single diffuser layer, so you end up with the light still being too directional inside the tent (if you use bare strobes to illuminate the tent). It'd be great if somebody made a "tent inside a tent" (so there'd be an inner baffle, the way they do it in softboxes). I made my own primitive tent, which only has horizontal diffusers (two) separated by ~2 inches. Does anyone know if dual layer tents exist? What one can probably do is to buy two cheap tents from ebay of different sizes, and then place one inside another one.

So I just ordered two cheapest photo tents of different sizes I could find - total was 22 USD (from aliexpress):

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/30x30cm- ... 96895.html

The sizes are 30^3 cm and 40^3 cm. The idea is to simply place the smaller one in the middle of the bigger one, which will create gaps of 5cm on the sides and 10cm at the top (bottoms would just touch), and then illuminate the dual tent by two bare flashes placed at top-left and top-right positions. The hope is that the dual tent will act as a softbox with a baffle, resulting in soft light even when bare flashes are used. One can change flashes positions and power to achieve any type of macro illumination - either fully symmetric (flat), or with one side brighter.

We'll see how it's going to work out.
