Ottawa: Fido -> Koodo

I’m thinking of moving from Fido to Koodo. Current status:
  1. I live in Barrhaven (Ottawa suburb) and Rogers/Fido here are abysmal for some reason. My friend who is with Telus has much better coverage.
  2. Currently have 7GB for $35 with Fido with Quebec area code number.
  3. I’d probably jump on the BYOD 6GB for $40 from Koodo.

Couple of questions, as far as I can tell, I can get the QC plan from Koodo with my QC area code number + Ottawa number, is this true? Second question, any deals going around that I can jump on to pay less or get more for the same money?

Thanks folks.

I'm in Barhaven myself. On Koodo and it's been very reliable..
I had been setup from the mobile shop at Loblaws.. they had mentioned Quebec and giving me Quebec rates or deals based on being close to the boarder. Not sure if that's what your asking.. but basically my rate at the time was a Quebec rate not the Ontario rate.

Yes I went from Rogers to Koodo. Porting my 613 number and got the Quebec rate. 10$ less I believe.

Most companies will give you the QC rate in Ottawa if you push because of Videotron.

If Koodo won't try Virgin.

Interesting, yea, I'm aware of qc rates for ott, but I thought you are forced to get a qc area code

It was 22 months ago.. mobile shop guys found the deal when I went in. They seem motivated to dig and compare at the location In Barhaven
