Looking to go to Tokyo and Seoul too (about a week each), anyone know if there are any available dates that are cheap? Wasn't able to get anything good.

If it's not approx. at least 3 weeks in length, deal isn't worth it. You lose 2 days just going there alone, and this doesn't include jetlag.

Stopover in the USA? In O'Hare no less? Yikes... A precarious flight - but a great price if you want to stop in Tokyo.

I did 2 weeks Korea/Japan once. You can usually go to Tokyo around March for 750-800 (check rfd history)

My advice is fly to Tokyo then fly to Korea from Haneda to gimpo as both those airports are closer to downtown and will save you time.

Also avoid flying to Korea Thursday-Saturday as its usually busier and more expensive

Peach air or jeju air will get you from Tokyo to Seoul for about 180cad not including checked bags.

Have fun

I will pay $200 more round-trip to avoid unnecessary hassles from US customs and to avoid United and O'Hare (so many delayed flights).

Only nice if you want to spend time in Tokyo (and add stopover day(s)) en route to Bangkok, or if you value marginally-better airlines more than you value your actual vacation. For $200-250 savings over EVA air or China Eastern you are adding 20-30 hours of travel hell.

This deal is also valid for those departing from Calgary.

I just booked flights to Bangkok with a one-week stopover in Tokyo for $678 in June.

A bit better value as there is no convenient way to get to Singapore anyway. These Bangkok flights are really not worth it unless you are really backpacking and the $200 will last more than a day.
