Outdoor garden tap

Hello,

Wondering if anyone can help. When I turn on my outdoor garden hose tap, very little water comes out. It pretty much just trickles/drips out with no pressure. First time opening the tap this year. What do I need to do?

Thanks

is your shut off valve on? people normally turn it off in the fall, just before winter to prevent it from freezing up

You probably have an anti-freeze valve. I had one go on me last year so had to replace it and this year my other one was giving me some issues. I opened and closed it a couple times and it finally started working.

^^^. This . Some non freeze hose bibs have a spring loaded stem that can fail.

Did the copper line burst? Happened to me twice in 6 years. I got proficient at soldering and fixed it myself.

It’s not a non freeze it’s just a standard bib. It sounds as I’m if the stop washer has dislodged in either the bib or interior shutoff. Being that the interior shut-off leaks I would change the packing and start there

Are you saying the outside one is just a standard bib?

I kept opening and closing the shut off valve as mentioned previously and the outside tap began to work properly. However, when i turn the shut off valve on and off i feel some water dripping from it but when its fully open or closed there is no water dripping but i could feel some water on the valve.

The o-ring in the valve packing is the cause of external leakage when operating the valve
