Over-Ear / On-Ear Headphones

Looking for advice for either Over-Ear or On-Ear Headphones (I don't know the difference) for a senior.

AFAIK, the main usage of them would be hooked up to PC for videos, youtube, streaming, etc; and a mobile device as well (pod cast?), so standard 3.5mm connection will do.

They are not looking for wireless, bt, rechargeable, etc. Obviously budget friendly, but something that would last and not complete garbage. Not sure where to look, or what to look at.

Saw these in staples, but wasn't sure of price point / quality?

SONY MDRZX110B Over-Ear Headphones

Tips, suggestions welcome, and appreciated.
Thanks.

You want over-ears because they have earcups that don't rest on the ear, the padded cups wrap around the ear. On ear headphones rest on your ear parts and for me, they generally HURT my ears after an extended period of time.

I would have suggested the HD400S ($80 on amazon) or SRH440 ($100) until I saw that the Sonys you linked were $35. I don't have any suggestions to offer in that price range, but I would suggest having headphones that have a single wire instead of two as they get tangled up more easily

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation with Over-Ear / On-Ear Headphones. I only posted those Sony's because of the price point. I wasn't really sure what I was looking at or for. Not sure if they are any good or not. It seems really cheap for $25, that's why I was worried about quality of sound or comfort for the ears. I can take a look at the ones you mentioned as well and compare.

Anything cheaper then $80?
Thanks.

Finding headphones that are comfortable is not as easy as it sounds. Most headphones are very plasticky so finding ones that don't creak and break on the first drop is also a challenge. Even some expensive headphones don't get this right.

AKG K72 might be ok (springy headband, generous earcups, single cable) for $70.
