what is this DX thing?
DX.com

Basically, think of it as a store that sells almost anything at dirt cheap prices, because the products are made dirt cheap.

I try to think of it as the dollar store of electronics.

'[s2 wrote:;15789971'] Now there is no more pirated DVDs there's tons of knock-offs, gross. I avoid this place at all times, unless I want something unique to eat.
Since when did all the pirate DVD stores close down for good? I remember them getting raided a bunch of times between 2005 and 2009, and it never seemed to stop them. What changed?

Since a few years ago due to frequent RCMP raids. Plus, the owners got arrested and went to jail.

Still lots of pirated DVD stores in PMall, just that they mainly sell pirated Chinese movies and TV shows now which the Canadian authorities don't really have any jurisdiction over.

Pmall is a rip off. No warranty or guarantee and electronic accessories are better off being purchased on ebay or deals extreme.

well, i think most of the electronic gadgets stores in pmall is selling the china brand. I am not saying the products are no good but beware of the warranty condition. ;)

I have been to that place twice while in Toronto, and everything in it was extremely overpriced junk. It was all the junk from DX.com and AliExpress.com, except marked up 3x,4x, sometimes 10x the price. The only people who would think they are getting a deal are people who have no idea where to buy things online and think that $15 for a cell phone charger at Futureshop is a fair price. I have heard that you can "haggle down" in all the stores in there but I do not want to deal with that BS. I want a price and pay that price. I don't even like haggling for a car, you think I want to haggle for a cell charger? I have better things to do.
