[Amazon.ca] Patriot LX microSDXC 128GB - 36.99

Sorry if this is a repost, could not find it posted yet.

$36.99 seems like a decent price for a 128GB microsdxc that shouldn't be a fake.
Fulfilled by Amazon so should be protection if it turns out to be fake.

Dang! I just ordered this 2 days ago from the same seller for $42.99 and tracking says that I should receive it by tomorrow.

Anyone know if Amazon will credit me the extra $6 that I paid for this MicroSD?

Is it worth it? I have a 64GB in my Surface Pro 3, which is at half capacity. Not sure why I would need more but could be good for futureproofing...

It's a good price.
I ordered one from the same seller 3 months ago for $42.99.
I tested it using a tool that recognize fake or genuine ... Plus I'm using it for 3 month now with no issues at all..
I confirm it's genuine 100%

Amazon doesn't do price adjustments or price matches IIRC.

Nope never buy tech until you need it.

In 6 mos 128 card will be better and cheaper. Best buy will have this 14.99 on black Friday probably... So wait until you need one...

What if when you need it and it's not on sale?

It's not an official policy but it never hurts to ask. They've done it for me in the past, though I've usually asked within 2 days of the price drop.

hate to say but didn't these cards have massive failure rates?

Got it.

And it's defective within minutes.

After formatting it on the G5 and moving a 4gb music folder and 1.3gb DCIM folder, the phone was good for a few minutes. Opened a picture and phone started becoming unsuably slow and after a restart, got message saying SD Card corrupted and needs to be formatted. Basically music and pictures lost within seconds (luckily the copies of those folders in internal storage weren't deleted before the problem started occurring).

Garbage on opening.

Don't count on it, we're heading into a DRAM and NAND shortage. Suppliers are restricting supply, producers have scaled back because of continued drop in pricing, many producers have shut down Planar factories to convert them to 3D NAND, iPhone 7 is sucking up all of Samsung's capacity. Likely you'll see prices continue to rise until the middle of 2017 then you'll see 3D NAND start to counteract the reduced supply.

Summer 2016 to Summer 2017 = increasing prices
2017 Summer onward = prices remain level or slowly decline.

All the Patriots I got went corrupt without warning (not having used any for too long). Very unreliable cards... make sure you have a backup of your files somewhere.
