Patterned concrete patio
So I have been hearing the concrete businesses has been booming in Ontario. Was just quoted $50/sqft for patterned concrete backyard patio. What’s your honest opinion?

Get multiple quotes. When we were doing our driveway in concrete we got prices from around $7,000 - $12,000. So it really depends on the contractor and the specifics of how they are doing it, ie: thickness of concrete, MPA Strength of concrete, the base of it, how deep etc that all adds to the costs the better it is.

Just did a patio and walkway. Quotes were $4500 to $18k… yeah outrageous!! All quotes were from highly rated contractors from homestars and trusted pros. Went with a owner/operator outfit and am extremely happy with the job. My deposit in April of $300 secured me as job #16 on the waiting list and it was done in June.
I also wanted stamped/colored/jewel stone etc finish but ended up with broomed finished as it holds up better in our climate. I may go over it with decking or flagstone but at this time I’m very pleased with the broomed finish.
