Paying property tax with credit card

Apologies if this has been asked before, but is it possible to pay your property tax with credit card?

Canada, Eh!!
Some folks use paytm or similar... fees involved. Check credit cards thread.

Canadian Tire credit cards have bill pay feature [no fees] and earn cash back.
2022/3: BOC raised 10 times and MCAP raised its prime next day.
2017,2018: BOC raised rates 5 times and MCAP raised its prime next day each time.
2020: BOC dropped rates 3 times and MCAP waited to drop its prime to include all 3 drops.

If you have Cdn Tire credit card and sufficient limit, you can use Cdn Tire CC to pay without fee and earn a bit of cash back or CT money. Make sure you have the correct city as payee. Cdn Tire city payee list can be confusing which I recently found out first hand. LOL

If you have a credit card you need to need min spend for welcome bonus, you can pay via PayTm, Plastiq, Paysimply, etc.

For property tax, those cards typically charge 2.5% fee.

Or check your city's tax website and see if you can use credit card to pay them directly. Several years ago, I could directly pay city with my credit card without a fee. Now they charge 2% which is still lower than the 2.5% fee via other platforms.

Make sure to give yourself several days for city to receive your credit card payment.

Yea, definitely use the CT card for no fee + cash-back.

Make sure the reward from your CT cc is cash back vs. CT Money if you don't shop at CT bannered stores.

What? I didn't know we could have that option. Is it the same rate for cash back or CT money?

Different CT MCs have different rewards, i.e. cash back or CT Money. I don't mean you can choose different rewards for the same CT MC. Which CT MC do you have?
Cash Advantage® Mastercard earns real cash back while other CT MCs earn CT Money.

If you have the Triangle World Elite MC, then it is earning CT money , not cash back.

Yeah I have that one. I just thought I could switch to cash back instead of CT money.

Nope.

As @titaniumtux says, just go buy some toilet paper.
