Logged into my paypal account and saw this:

Looks simple enough - Download app, login and get $5. You should receive the money within a week.

You have to receive the offer in order to qualify.

To clarify for people who are bad at reading:

It's not an e-mail offer, you LOG IN to the website to see if you got it. $5 will be deposited in approximately one week.

I didn't have a pop-up, but saw "Get the Paypal App" at the top left, which brought me to the page OP is talking about.

I don't believe the offer works if you already use their app.

Yeah I kept scanning for some sort of transaction detail but it just seems like some overpaid lawyer did some copy and pasting.

My link for the Get Paypal App just goes to a page that says "Scan the QR code or get a text to download the new app" with no reference to the $5. And I use Paypal often :|

Infrequent PP user still got it. CAD side just said it would send QR code so just logged out and checked US account and it was there. GL all!
