PDAPLAZA open box issue

Purchased an open box honor 8x.
While attempting to configure the device via set-up wizard.
Right after it connects to Wi-Fi it asks for existing pin or Google account after restart.
Contact support they say we contracted the previous owner pin should be **** doesn't work.
Give me three more pins and none work.
I attempted a hard reset still asks for the pin or Gmail account.
Anyway around this?
Only current option is RMA.

I think you can wipe the phone from recovey menu? Holding volume down + power button to get to recovery menu ircc.

RMA it. If it's got a google lock on it, performing any type of regular reset will not work.

The reset has to be done from the Android settings menu. Wiping via the bootloader will not remove the password/pin requirement.

If there was an easy way around it, it wouldn't be a very good security feature. RMA that bad boy.

This^^^^^. My son locked himself out of his Samsung tablet and this is all I had to do. Resets the tablet back to factory but you will lose everything except what was on the microSD card.
