Pest Control Mice Advice

I recently moved into my townhouse and today I noticed a minimum of two baby mouse in my backyard. They ran under my AC unit, so will have to check if they set up a den there or not. What should I do, set traps, call pest control? Any advice will be appreciated.

Mice outside are very common. Don't leave Doors open, fille all holes that could be an entrance to the house, and let them be. It's called nature.

This. Leave the mice outside be. They also won't be entering your home at this time of year - they start making their way inside in the fall so inspect your home for any entry points before then. They can get inside the size of a dime - if you're wan added peace of mind you could hire a pest control company to look for and seal up entry points but it is expensive. I had (hopefully it's past tense) mice in the attic and it's really hard to get rid of them. These are the common entry points - if you can't on the roof it might be worthwhile to hire someone https://www.theexterminators.ca/blog/ho ... ry-points/

Mice outside . It's very common. They need a place in this little planet.

Just make sure they don't get inside your house.

How much is it to get them to look for entry points and seal?

It depends on a variety of factors such as size of the house, complexity (e.g., steepness of roof), as well as the company. You're looking at a minimum of $1000 . I would also highly recommend going with a reputable company ( don't trust online reviews) that offers some type of guarantee.

I didn't have much choice - the mice were getting in through the dormers which are located on a really steep roof - it's not safe to come up there without proper safety equipment. It came with a 5 year warranty which is void once you replace the roof. They had to come several times and I'm still not sure if it's completely sealed off - I will only know come this fall. I got this work done in Oct 2019 and I caught one mouse this past March! Since there was only one, I think it got trapped up there once they removed the one-way doors - if it got in after they sealed it off I would have more than one mouse. Additionally, I had their competitor come in for an assessment this past spring and the areas where they looked, they said it was sealed off well. When they found out which company I used , they spoke highly of their work and said if they couldn't resolve, they wouldn't be able to either (that reassured me) this company also was charging more than double than what I paid for.

I'm not in the GTA so I can't give you a referral.

My recommendations to folks who want to preventative work is to watch some Youtube videos that show how to seal up your home before the fall especially if the roof, etc. is accessible.

I had mice in my garage this past winter, found dropping everywhere. Going to be moving camping stuff inside so they don't eat their way through tents and sleeping bags and any other stuff that I don't want damaged and leave them be

Agreed.
What is it with all these new posts?
There is another today about rodents jumping from neighbour's trees.

Next it will be "A bird flew over my house. How do I stop it?".

Cut down all trees! Remove all grass! Pour concrete everywhere!
Get rid of air.
