[Petro Canada] 10cents/ltr Card reload 17,600 points

First Post!

Didn't see anything for the 10c/ltr PetroCanada Fuel Savings Card redeem, but I was just reloading the family cards and couldn't help but notice that the reload points is quite lower than the normal. Normal reload rate is 22,000 points for 200L but I just did one for 17,600 points (~4,400 less...) so thought some people might appreciate that.

Compounded reloads (i.e. 400L, 600L etc) rates don't change, see screenshot.

Report, the 20% off deal also applies to the 5c card.

How is this deal different than the 8800 pts one that someone on this forum posted?

I believe the 8800 points deal is for the 5c/ltr card. This is for the newer 10c card that came out (last year or 2 years ago maybe?)

Petro Canada has been improving a lot. I always thought the 5c/L off was really nice but then they came out with a 10c/L and then they give promos to refill it. Petro has really stepped up their game and I'm so glad that London has 5-6 locations from my house.

Is this only available when reloading a card or does it apply when buying a new one? I don't have one at the moment.

Unfortunately it's only for reloads. I haven't tried getting a new one obviously but when I did I used 24,000 points a while back. Give it a shot n let us know, if you find it is lower to get a new one as well. :)

lol its the same thing as the 8800 points for the 5c/L card, just that the 5cent card will last longer since its taking less off per liter but then youre getting more liters so whatever you look at it, its the same

Can you get the 10 cents off fuel savings card from the station and reload it yourself online?

However, I don't know if the promo is also good for first time activations.

Can you activate in store without loading it?

I should not have worded it "first time activation", because cards don't need to be activated.
I meant, the promotion specifies that it's for reload so I don't know if it will work the firs time you "load" points into it.
I do know that you can get an empty card for free at the store and load it online.

Oh I didn't know you could get empty cards! Regardless this only showed up when I tried to reload a run down card (0 litres left) so I assume it's for reloads on existing cards only.

Nonetheless it doesn't hurt to try.

How you can do that? I just asked at my local Petro Canada and the guy was adamant that the only way to get the card is to redeem 24,000 points (which I don't have)...

Thanks!

[Edit] I went to another location and the cashier gave me a card, but I wasn't able to add it to my account online, so it appears that it still has to be activated in store and I don't know whether there is a way to activate a card without spending 24,000 points.

+1, you are right, I wish there's a way to activate the card without spending 24,000 points to begin with. Currently, it's not possible. So, the deal for this thread is for reload an existing card and not for the new card.
