[Petro Canada] $189 for Car Wash Season Pass Card (90 Days), Save $20, Earn 2x Petro-Points, Online or In-store Promo YMMV

It's my first post for "Hot Deals" thread after being only on the credit cards thread. I hope you won't be too harsh.

The price increased $10 from last year, but if anyone is looking to start a group, this is a good time to get into it. You can save $20 ($189 + Tax), and earn double the Petro-Points when you register or reload your card online. The deal is effective Canada-wide, and until March 28, 2022.

I was told by the attendants at my local Petro-Canada that they can add-in some extras such as a few more days to the Season Pass card if you purchase it in-store, but obviously YMMV on that part. In addition, unique thing about purchasing it in-store is that you can combine the use of existing Petro-Points with your normal method of payment (e.g. Cash, Debit, Credit), so you can discount your final purchase price further.

At 90 Days, you're looking at roughly $2.37 tax-included, per wash, per day. Hope this helps for those that were looking or waiting for these.

How does sharing work these days?

I did this a few years back and we had to physically pass the card around.

Still the same?

No, you can download the app and create a shared account.

Does the pass expire if your don't activate it before certain period? Winter is almost over - I generally just wash my car to get rid of the salt. So, ideally, get the pass for next winter. Price prob go up again, buy while on sale now.

Can you buy the season pass now with the discount but not activate/start the 90 days until later in the year? (i.e. December 2022 lol)

If I already have a pass going, does buying it just extend the days?

To each their own but I really don't see the value in paying roughly 210$ dollars for 3 months worth of car washes as I can do the job myself in 15 minutes in the driveway...
IE- Once a week

Comment excludes those living in Condos or Apartments who don't have access to a hose.

Nonetheless +1 to the OP for posting.

Cheers, KH

Perhaps I am unlucky. I wash on tuesdays using the app and i wasn't able to wash because the app just simply wouldn't work on that day I needed it.

constant loading loop, keep kicking you out, "something went wrong, please try again in a few minutes" it was frustrating.

lots of negative reviews on playstore on the app about this. Perhaps the app runs better on IOS.

it's only worth it if you share it...but biggest issue for me are the crazy long lines and doesn't help with how slow the carwashes are at petrocan (Can only speak to touchless)..it's like at least 5mins per car if not more... i have the half price wash tickets but so hard to use them unless i'm willing to wait like 30-40mins or something even during middle of day in a less busy location.

Somehow it is expected when people can group and share the car washing account. Instead of the car washing station waiting 30 min for the next car, we have to wait 30 min inline. Not sure if gas station is making more profit one way or the other.

I've done it once and would never do it again. Coin op self serve car wash is much butter. It may cost more depending on how often you wash. But you rarely have to wait in line, I.e. Save money and gas. Also it's a good work out.

Sucks that you have to sign up for a petro-points card just to get this wash card.

Use your dog's name if getting a PP card is an issue.
