Pflag Peel Event,free lunch + Meet Premier of Ontario (Sun Apr 17 11a-230p)

This launch is to announce the creation of the new Peel Chapter of Pflag Canada that will be a new resource for families with LGBT family members in Peel Region, with a focus on the South Asian diaspora. This chapter will meet monthly and will provide a safe space for parents and families to support each other.

The coming out process can be challenging for all members of families. Many parents, upon learning of their child’s sexual orientation or gender expression, find themselves apprehensive of supporting their child, due to a fear of what others in the community will think. This event will bring together many from the local South Asian community as well as local dignitaries, such as the Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario, to show our solidarity with both the LGBT and South Asian communities and to increase awareness of both the new Pflag chapter in Peel as well as other community resources.
Registration is free and a complimentary lunch will be provided.
