Canon Camera Clearance - 50% OFF - YMMV

Savings:
50%
Expiry:
August 1, 2021
Retailer:
Pharmaprix (SDM)
Hi,

Noticed tonight that my local Pharmaprix (SDM) at Trois-Rivières (QC) that they are clearing their Canon Cameras at 50% off.
Sweet deal if you have a 20x points or using your points this weekend with the bonus redemption
specially if you have 200k that will net you a 300$ discount.

As always, deals at SDM are very YMMV.

I personally didn't got one since i already have a better camera and did not had a 20x coupon.

Damn, wish we still had Stocktrack for Shoppers....

FYI -- I have the Canon SL1 that I got for next to nothing openbox at my local The Source because it had no lens (stolen, display model). It's a super solid and compact DSLR camera (smallest aps-C in their lineup. It's great because its less conspicuous than most pro style cameras, especially with a pancake lens, and it takes excellent photos. Next to maybe the 7D mk II, I'd say it's around 2nd best image quality in their line-up. The SL2 and 3 here are only better and more up-to-date (though slightly bigger, from what I hear). Be sure to check them out if you're in the market! DSLR's aren't dead yet, and lenses on the used market are much more plentiful than mirrorless and quality build! Lots of bargains to be had.

Cheers!

Damn that's hot
When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

Pretty decent pricing, but beware as a former slave at shoppers the return policy is over as soon as you open the box.

Nikon doesn't seal their boxes. Judging by the photos, neither does Canon.

When I bought a camera from Shoppers, I checked my box at the cash after paying. Everything was in there, but you never know.

Lots of Shoppers clearance sales are store specific. If they have any Nikon D5600s at half price, that would be pretty hot.
I will tell my grandchildren about the deal I got on an HP Touchpad at the Bank street staples thanks to rfding.

I only seen Canon in clearance, there were others cameras inside the display that was not in clearance but I didn't pay attention which model they were.

Is it possible to get clear pictures of the price tags? I’d like to get the sku. Would SDM employees be able to check stock?

Like most of these Shoppers clearance deals, this is probably specific to this one location.

M100 at $300 not bad. Bought it about 1.5yrs for $400 and I really enjoyed using it as a travel camera. Been using it with my EF-S lenses and an adapter.

The T100 is only 18MP, note the kit lens doesn't have image stabilization, it used to be on sale at SDM for $300 quite often, it's really entry level. All the other cameras (except the PowerShot - in the blue box) are 24MP and use the APS-C size sensor. The M100 is a great little mirrorless camera from a couple years ago that was usually on sale for $400: I love mine (as an aside - not included in the picture - it's successor M200 isn't worth the 50% higher MSRP). The SL3 is a steal, SL2 is a couple years older but a damn good deal.

That 75-300mm lens is one of the worst lens Canon makes (if you have an APS-C camera: go for the EF-S 55-250mm that SDM occasionally stocks instead, better quality and has image stabilization), but for that price go for it.

Canon will stop making DSLRs and only be making mirrorless from now on, unlikely they'll release any new EF or EF-S lens models (which debuted back in 1987). The new RF mount is used on their full frame sensor (~$3,000+) R series (which is mirrorless while still having the same form as DSLRs) and we won't see a Rebel (crop sensor) with an RF mount for another year - at least. Since all Canon's lenses use the same communication protocol you can just get an adapter (which is essentially a spacer) to put your EF lenses onto RF or EF-M (like the M100), or to put your EF & EF-S lenses onto EF-M.
