Likely clearing them out for the widely expected new Sigma 24-70 Art lens. Still a very good deal for this lens, but if any indication on how much improved their other ART lenses are the new 24-70 ART will likely be much sharper and better overall. It will also cost an insane amount more thought!

EF - spend more for the Tamron, DxO=32 (vs Sigma 26); Tamron's is pretty much the budget Canon 24-70 f/2.8ii and sharper than Canon's mark i
(edit: looks like retail Tamron is way up, I've seen used ones for $850-1000)

EFS - 24-70 is a bit long, Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 would be my choice

I have it but prefer using 24 1.4 and 50 1.2 to cover that focal range during weddings.

For consistent and fastest focus of the 24-70's, Canon v1 and v2 win.
