Maybe Pixar should try a narrative without any fantasy/scifi elements

My name is Luka
I live on the second floor
I live upstairs from you
Yes I think you've seen me before
If you hear something late at night
Some kind of trouble, some kind of fight
Just don't ask me what it was

Interesting studios are starting to put placeholders for eventual YT debuts

Apologies for going a bit off topic but Pixar made a couple of shorts available on YT

I dunno, I've been disappointed with Pixar's last few at bats. I know Soul did well with the awards, but I didn't find it that amazing. It was smart but didn't pull at my emotions as previous films. Onward felt like a major flop for me. I have a feeling Luca won't be as good either.

It feels like Coco was their last hit, which seems like ages ago. To me what makes Pixar, Pixar, is that the storytelling and animation is so good that its pulls at your heartstrings and you cry over an animated film when it reaches it's pinnacle.

These last few films don't do it for me.

I have a feeling next year's Oscar will go to Raya & the last dragon.

It's more for kids than adults but it's a splash of fun visually and it's memorable.

I find that the visuals aren't as impressive as past Pixar films. Animation quality actually looks more like older Disney films. Did Disney steal all the Pixar animators?

No pulling at the heart strings. They tried.

I watched this dubbed in Cantonese and enjoyed it. Sounded like they really got kids for the dubbing here. No big Hong Kong celebrity voice cast this time around but it was fine.

I liked it, but it's not going to get the high profile exposure that a Cars or Toy Story will get which is too bad. It's not as innovative as Soul or Inside Out story wise, but they really captured the beauty of a small Italian town in Cinque Terre.

Felt like an AD for Vespa Scooters ...

Kinda like The Italian Job was an AD for Mini Cooper ...

Finally watched this over the weekend. It was a cute enjoyable movie. Loved the montage photographs in the end credits that show what happened to the characters after the events of the main movie. And Uncle Ugo was hilarious! Figures it was Sasha Baron Cohen.
