Pixel 6 issue (screen gets pixelated after taking a photo)

I have a weird issue with the pixel 6, where the screen gets very pixelated after taking a photo. Phone has been updated, but anytime I take a picture and then immediately go to the gallery to look at the picture it gets super pixelated like from an old nintendo game. If I close/reopen the image viewing program or swipe right to the next photo, the issue is gone, but it's very annoying because I have to do these extra steps to view a picture I just took. Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes I had that too when I owned the phone briefly. Took a couple of tries before it was normal. It was one of many things on my P6 list that made me return the phone.

I haven't come across any reviews that talk about this issue. I don't know if this is isolated to a small amount of owners or if this is a widespread bug that noone's cared to bring up :(

Also taking pictures are so slow compared to my previous phone. i don't understand why so many say this phone's camera is fast,

I find it faster than my old phone. I'm coming from a P20 Pro. You may have more luck posting in the pixel 6 thread.

What app do you use to view the photo? Google Photo?

It's not an issue more a slight inconvenience. It's normal with Pixel phones. It's the software processing the photo, all of Googles great photo reviews come from the software processing so it takes a blip to finalize. It's only an issue if you need to view the pic a split second after it was taken.

Actually, when I tested it again, the pixelation does not disappear if I swipe to the next picture and back. I have to exit the app, then reopen it for it the photo to be clear again.

My previous phone (samsung) took amazing photos and had no noticeable post processing delays.

You can join Google Photo beta and Camera beta program to see if there's any improvement. I personally think it is the software.
