Pizza Hut delivery charge?

My Pizza Hut is charging $5.95 for delivery! Seems a bit excessive. I can’t see this working out for them.

It's $1.50 or $2.00 more than Panago and Papa John's. No one's going to complain about that in Vancouver.

I understand it’s a service but I have a feeling this drives people away like myself. It seems to go up quite frequently. I think last time I checked it was $4.95

True but they are definitely on the high end for delivery charges . At least where I am.

$1 or $2 more than their competitors isn't going to change anything. Are you going to stop eating pizza? The customers that want Pizza Hut are going to continue eating Pizza Hut. Hardly anyone will switch to Panago because of that $2.

Not sure why anyone would pay this. I order my pizza from PH, it's about a 10 min drive, I get it and I'm eating dinner shortly thereafter. No delivery fee, no tip...save $10-$15.
Mind you, I don't like ordering pizza often but once in a while I'll take advantage of their $5 deal.

Probably for the same reason millions of people use use Uber, Skip and Door Dash, convivence. The prices paid on those aps are far more than a $5.95 delivery charge You have delivery fees, service fees and then the restaurant markup above what they usually charge.

Lots of people use these aps and will pay, pizza hut delivery is no different

It isn’t really that unreasonable given you likely get charged closer to that with any food delivery service (either hidden charge via price increase or service/delivery charge). There is always the alternative of picking it up if you don’t want to pay for delivery. Could also be the case of staff shortage so they might want you to pick it up.

I'll stick with doing the pickup myself. I've seen videos of what some of those delivery drivers do. Face Screaming In Fear

In my area it's $4.99 for delivery from Pizza Hut. Sometimes when the weather is bad or you just don't feel like going out, it's worth it. Normally I pickup my orders though.

Still many places with $3/$4 delivery. After posting this I found a pizza place and never realized they delivered in my area. $3 delivery BUT unfortunately they closed at 7pm. I will order as soon as I get home today .

My delivery fee's have gone up since March. Local CLOSE businesses that use to charge $0.99 - $1.99 are now charging $5.99+ this includes Mcdonalds lol... I basically just stopped ordering from uber eats after this happened. I've saved hundreds in the past month or so.

Large favorites is now an extra $1 where I live plus a whopping $6.95 delivery lmao. The most expensive delivery charge i have ever seen from a restaurant using their own staff. Thats why they loss me as a weekly customer.

Here in Toronto Ontario, the delivery charge for Pizza Hut food is still only $4.99.
$2.99 delivery fee through Door Dash, Uber & Skip, but other charges may apply.
