You don't like cardboard? Re-heated cardboard is the best!

If their chicken sandwich tastes like their pizza, you can't pay me to eat it.

cardboard has no taste - not sure what you're getting at.

Nah, their fried panzos are pretty good. wings are decent too. If only they had kept their veal sandwich. But yeah, all their regular pizzas are garbage. Pro tip: when ordering panzos add a little free chilli pepper, which forces them to make it fresh to order, instead of reheating one from the front counter...makes a huge difference.

Do they use a different non-cardboard dough in their panzos? Or does the frying process somehow halt the mutation process preventing the pizza dough from transforming into cardboard as it cools?

Some additional details after checking out the app:
The code only works for the creamy garlic chicken sandwich, not the classic or spicy sriracha chicken sandwiches.
Sandwiches are $7.29 in the app for my location.

I have my eyes on an order of 10 wings + fries (their fries are actually quite good and large). Total including free sandwich and tax comes to $17.72

… or 1 super panzo + 1 pepperoni panzo + free sandwich = $18.17

how's it compare to Popeye's, KFC, or McChicken?
I love chicken sandwiches and have tried many :) Definitely way better than McChicken. Its real chicken. Not as good as the Big Crunch. Never had Popeyes.

The frying process changes it indeed. It makes it crispy, golden and moist. Coupled with the hot melted cheese inside (and they use a lot of it in panzos) its just great along the garlic or peppercorn dip. Also if you have some marinara at home. They're pretty big too, so you def get your 7 bucks worth. Trust me on this, I've had them like hundreds of time, and I'm the biggest pizza pizza hater on the block. That cardboard dough can only be saved with a deep-fryer. Even their plastic, non-rennet cheese gets transformed into something gooey and quite decent.

I might give the panzos a try again. Last time I had them was back when I was a teenager. They were good back then… before the cardboard revolution.
I was weary of their suspect cheese as well, but being locked in the pocket with sauce and other fillings may indeed eliminate the plastic effect.

… and I just made a batch of pasta sauce that would go nicely with the panzos

Been ages since I last tried one here. My go to place for panzos is Pizzaville. But if Pizza Pizza now deep fried, will give this promo a try.

I really like Pizzaville too, both pizzas and slices, they have a signature taste to them. Though I haven't had them for years since their locations are so sparse.

Panzos at Pizza Pizza have always been deepfried, but you can also get oven baked, its just called Calzone instead. Nowhere near as good. That cardboard dough can only be redeemed with a healthy dose of a deep fryer.

Just did this but +$1 as I got the "double fries" rather than the single, as I'm sharing with a friend.

10 wings [honey garlic, sauced and tossed]: About as I remember. They are pizza chain wings. Not much more to say, really. lol. The sauce is a bit too sticky sweet.
Fries: They were pretty good, agreed, and the "double" is a lot. My friend and I couldn't finish and we both usually eat a lot. They fry them nicely and they didn't feel overly greasy or super heavy. I think my friend and I could've stuck to the "single" although it was only $1 difference.
Creamy Garlic Chicken Sandwich: Honestly, I wasn't impressed. It was pretty small and the garlic taste was weak. I expected to be kicked with garlic like you get with their creamy garlic dipping sauce, but this didn't do it. Certainly not worth $7.49 at regular price. I don't know if it'd be worth unless it was on some value menu.

Lately, Pizza Pizza is skimping on the toppings. 1/3 of the pizza is bread dough only, not even some tomato sauce on it.

Yeah, the panzerottis and calzones are pretty good at pizza pizza.
