What's with all these switch offers lately? The Canadian banks are getting as silly as the internet companies about churning customers. I guess this is easier than actually innovating or providing better customer service.

Pretty hot I think, you can easily turn around and sell it for $300. I personally have had bad experience with RBC, if you open any account with them they will put you on a list for their telemarketers which they outsource to india. They can be very harassing, and called me about 7 times a week to try and get me to upgrade to a higher monthly fee bank account. If you tell them to stop calling or anything other then "Yes upgrade me" they just hang up and call again later that day or the next. I eventually called my local branch to complain and they assured me I won't get any more calls, but still very bad customer service.

Sadly I have been with both RBC and TD bank for while .. I never got this promotions. :-(

Waiting for TD deal. At least they waive your monthly fees if you deposit and maintain a certain balance in account. With RBC your almost paying for the iPad within a year or two if you stay with monthly fees anyways.
