I have been with them for three years and this is a pretty good deal - I don't think I have seen it cheaper before. Cable 150 is $10 more at $35/month. There is also a $10 discount if you get a referral, not much but better than nothing.

I think it's $25 for the whole first year? Or am I wrong?

$24.99 /30 days means $25 PER 30 days, not FOR 30 days. 12 month contract infers this price is good for a year.
