Please help me to pick a patio umbrella and patio table rust proof

Hi all

1) I'm in the market for patio umbrellas.
Please recommend a good brand.
Our budget is under $500.

After some researches, the twin umbrella looks interesting and fits our needs.
Did anyone owns one and mind to share your experiences?

2) We bought a patio table set with steel frame and powder coated finish.
Is there any method to give it an extra rust proof?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Steel rusts. Powder-coated steel will not rust from the outside as those finishes are pretty strong. What you have to watch for is water getting inside the tubular steel components and that is usually a difficult thing to prevent.

If you can keep the furniture sheltered, it can almost last forever. Alternatively, after an especially rainy day, examine your furniture to find where water accumulates inside the frame. If, for example, water collects in the bottom parts of the legs, you can consider drilling an inconspicuous hole in the bottoms of those legs.

A warning about cheap umbrellas: the fabric will last maybe 3 seasons if it gets full sun throughout the summer. Expensive fabric (like Sunbrella) is significantly more expensive but you can get 10-15 years out of them. The problem with a lot of no-name umbrella frames is that finding replacement fabric can be a chore. Not impossible but sometimes it can be a challenge.

Good luck with your purchase and your new furniture!
