Please rate this stone veneer job and shower tiling job

My contractor that is sub contracted by another basement contractor just finished installing stone veneers on my wall accent. But I have doubt that they did a good job. I see lots of gaps all over the place and one line of stones is not straight.

What do you guys think of the quality of the job based on these pictures?

I'd be speaking to my contractor to have it completely removed and re-installed by someone who knows what they are doing.

Yeah? This is my first time ever having an accent wall and I have no idea if these gaps and extra cement between gaps is normal :(

How about these bathroom tiling works? Is it normal to see uneven lines along the edges?

Payments made in stages. It is part of the whole basement finishing project. Two payments left which I will withhold until these are fixed

That is horrible work, do not pay any more until it is fixed and have someone else do it.

I made a stone veneer fireplace almost exactly like that OP. I did it with zero stone work or stone cutting experience and with a very old and dull tile saw. My job doesn't look great but it looks better than that.

Def have them fix the whole thing again, including that bathroom until they get it absolutely right. The ball is in your court

Shower looks ok to me. Those gaps are likely 3/8 inch at most. With some grouting or caulking it will look fine. Same tiler did the fireplace?

For bathroom tiles, I don’t have issue with the middle area. The issue is on the edges where they met another wall and ceiling. Do you see how they are not a perfect straight and you can see one tile is longer than the other?
Not the same guy but they both are from the same contractor and was on site together.

Also, is tiling needed for the shower ceiling? I noticed that they didn’t instal tiles on the ceiling? Can’t they not be installed on the same day they installed the tiles on walls and floors?

From the pics, having the ceiling tiled wasn't planned. Is tiling the ceiling in the contract? If not, I highly recommend you have it done.

Depends on how high your ceiling is. For my main floor baths I did not tile the ceilings.. but did for my basement.

It is not in contract. Do they have to break things around if I want to tile the ceiling later? How much it cost to tile 9 sq ft?

According to the installer, it is natural stones so they are not even and etc. Is this true?

They vary in thickness but are cut square.

Bathroom is acceptable

Take it up with your general contractor
