Please recommend books to help improve writing & time management skills

Gave these two chaps a thanks each for their old posts for book recommendations. I've had used The Elements of Style in elementary and high school and I think I just misplaced my copy.

Would love to find out other great resources out there. I've been away from school for too long but sometimes it is easier to just get the book and explain the strategies to my kid. I'm not really concerned about her getting top marks but rather, getting her to analyze, write, and communicate better over time, which are the more critical skills in life.

1. How to Become A Straight-A Student by Cal Newport. Cal runs a popular blog at http://www.calnewport.com/blog/ called Study Hacks. It's brilliant. The chapte ron essay writing is excellent. Very clear system that minimizes the time required. Liek 15 bucks at stores, 9 on amazon.

2. On Writing Well by William Zissner. For a short chapter: http://www.cla.wayne.edu/polisci/kdk/ge ... insser.htm

That chapter alone improved my writing. Gonna pick up that book sometime.
