I brought my car in last week due to coolant being low and mechanic told me i need to replace timing cover which would cost 900.00. Can anyone provide any suggestion is this estimate ok?

Is the car even worth $900?

Some of older cars don't have any timing cover.

If you feel adventurous, save $900 and run without it.

However, I am pretty sure your mechanic said timing belt.

There's no timing belt. Yes it makes sense.
Its a pain in the ass to do. Im a little surprised the LIM leak didnt get it first.

The timing chain cover has a paper gasket in it that is known to leak. Its just a PITA to get to.

The $900 is on the high end but not out of this world.

Might as well accessory belt.

The cars not worth the money. How bad is it leaking?
