Porting home phone number can't cancel

I'm cancelling my internet services with CIK telecom and parents had their home phone services with them so I had to port the home phone out of CIK telecom to Teksavvy.
CIK says I can't cancel the just the internet services as it's connected to the phone services and I have to pay for the full month of service for both internet and phone (70$)
They wouldn't let me downgrade to their cheapest internet plan because that was "downgrading" and they said there are extra fees when you downgrade your plan lol.

Are there any rules in CRTC that doesn't allow them from doing this? I have no intention of using any of their services and already switched internet providers, I've already told them and they still want to charge me the full month.

I suggest reading your service contract to see if there are any penalties for leaving.

Don't port to Teksavvy too. If you change ISP again and you will have to port out again
port to Fongo home phone, as it will work with any ISP (so port once and forget it)

for porting out, your account has to be active. So you would 1st port out the #
then you call to cancel internet.
can't cancel internet and then try to port out

My ISP is Fido, I'm just using Teksavvy for home phone.
I already talked to Teksavvy. They've already requested the number to be port out from CIK but they said the earliest port in date would be November 13. CIK said I have to keep service and pay for the month because my billing cycle ended on the 31st.

CIK should still pro-rate it and only charge you until the day you port it out. ( so should credit you for unused days)
if they don't then file complain to CCTS
