Potlights in Basement

Need some advice please.

We are renovating our basement and installing Costco's 4 inch Par 20 potlights. The basement is 600sq ft and installing 24 potlights and will all be open concept...just one big room. Would this be enough lighting to fully brighten up the basement? Would more be needed or is this enough?

Not familiar with potlights so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Based on ~600sq/ft and a ceiling height of 7-8ft, you'd need about 900w of potlights (assuming average lumen output).
In this case, I think they are 50w, so you'd need 18.

I'd say 24 would be a good number to have, just in case 18 doesn't quite cut it.

Thanks for the response. Yes they are 50w and between 7-8ft ceiling, so 24 would be enough. Thanks so much!!!

Is there a rule of thumb to estimate how many pot lights would be recommended?

Thanks in advance!
