I imagine you might want to find something as bright as you can for that, since it will be fighting the internal reflection of the enclosure and then any daylight/glare etc. I would hesitate ,without full knowledge of the TVs true contrast/brightness, that you would have a good experience using this TV outdoors.

If they accept returns, why not give it a shot though right?

I have a TV which is very similar to his and his has been on my covered but not enclosed deck for 3 years without issue. I have it on a mobile TV cart and because it is so light its very easy to take off and just move inside if needed.

I dont think this would make a very good monitor at all. Maybe doable if you really aren't fussy.

Depends if it supports 4:4:4, if not, your experience will likely not be very positive. Keep in mind its also 1080p and 43" and you'll typically be sitting 3'~ away... Are you just looking for the big size? If not, there are countless other inexpensive options that are far superior to this.

I would say that the Insignia at Best Buy is a safer buy, when it goes on sale for $249.99 or less. https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/in ... y/14500009
Most cheap TVs have horrible speakers.
Better to plug a cheap soundbar via optical-out or grab a speaker set on sale

Bought one of these in 2019, backlight died last week. Sound is atrocious, seriously you won’t believe how bad the built-in speakers are, but we just got a sound bar to fix that.

I’m debating on just buying a new one or trying to fix the backlight.

The sound on this and the 32 version is terrible. You can adjust from 0-10, but there’s no difference. The difference in sound only kicks in each 10 in volume. 11, 21, 31 etc.

These were actually $179 on Black Friday, so possibly may go back to that level sometime. I bought and returned one, it wasn't bad for that price but I ended up buying a second hand LG for $50.

I have the TCL 43S425 4K which is $300, excellent WFH TV if you can spend a bit more. Nice and sharp and can split into effectively 4 21.5" 1080p screens for max productivity.
