Any solution for having outlet behind the TV with this mount, or this not recommended for that type of setup? This mount sits extremely close to the wall so there's not enough room to plug any cables in.

I have this mount, first one they sent was a bit crooked, but they sent me a replacement quickly and it's fine, it does come in two pieces for the wall mount. Works good and there is enough room to plug in, as you can add some spacers with the bolts, no problems at all. Have a 65" mounted with it.

If you don't have enough room, there are recessed outlets you can install/have installed behind tv's. I put one in with a cable run as well which lets me run low power cables (HDMI/coax/display port/fibre) to devices in different rooms or beneath the tv.

Don't need that one, but checked the price on one I've had my eye on and was waiting for a sale and it's 20% off.

This one posted is dirt cheap though!

I just installed this mount. There is plenty of room to plug in the cables, just lift the bottom out. I think it sits too far off the wall actually. The bottom locks do not work all that well. In fully tilted forward position, it does not engage at all. The release mechanism does not work. For 12 bucks, I would still buy it.

P.S. I installed a recessed outlet box in the middle of the mount. Had to notch the mount slightly. Looks great, sits flush. Can still easily access the power outlet or other cables...again I think the mount sits too far outwards.

I installed one of these recessed duplex outlets/LV cable access a few years ago when I installed my TV really close to the wall.

If installing a new outlet is not an option, then you can always try using a power cable like this one assuming your TV uses a typical PC style power cable.

The dual 90 degrees on both ends will help gain a few mm clearance.

What am I not getting here vs those $100+ mounts?

Bought this back when it was $10.99 or something. Holding up my living room TV no problem. I did have some issues jamming my fat arm to plug inputs and stuff on the side of my TV, but you can just tilt it downward/upward as people say there's enough space to do so with this. It does mount a bit away from the wall though. Pretty standard design. Good buy!

Agree - got one still and it weighs a ton. Works perfectly though and great to view.
