Primus.ca Upto 1GBps $25 for 4 months then $50 after, 1 year contract

Deal Link:
Price:
24.95
Expiry:
March 21, 2022
Retailer:
primus.ca/costco
We were looking for a cheaper internet now that our $60 300mb service is now $85+ from Shaw with our contract expiring. Haven't called Shaw yet to cancel so they may try to match it, but Primus appears to be a Shaw/Telus reseller with a decent Costco promotion.

24.95 for 4 months then $50 indefinitelty, but 1 year contract. 10 days to cancel if you dont like the service

Note that I was unable to find this deal online, and calling in to Primus directly gave different plans. Needed to talk to the booth in Costco, Vancouver, BC, but this deal might be nation wide?

Does anyone have any comments about Primus or this deal?

I will update once the install is complete. Hope this helps someone,
Thank you,

Tried, got offered Internet 6 (6 mbps down/56k up) for $38.95/month. $20 cheaper vs. Telus!
Zoomer: 1 account for family and planning to leave for good in 2023
Koodo too: for a phone and locked to 24 months but was a good deal.

Seeing 80$ for 6 months, then 100$ for my postal code in Ontario. Deal seems to be BC exclusive.

Good luck with that. The last Primus deal posted here wasn't available in AB, and as you've noted, not to be found on the Primus website - and that's my experience.

Also my experience: guessing which day a Primus rep would be staffing the booth at Costco proved a waste of time. No one knew. And not any of the always helpful Costco staff.

After trying to find said elusive Primus deal last fall, and wasting my time with multiple visits to Costco, I finally connected with a great deal via a Telus rep here on RFD - @[optiktv]

Subsequent conversations with the Primus rep at the booth demonstrated how useless they are. All their signage mentions price only, not speed. When you ask them what speed is offered for these low rates, you walk away laughing.

Really unprofessional bunch to talk to is my impression. The Costco signups they get must be the uninformed.

If you've actually got a good deal in front of you from a Primus rep, I'd study the fine print closely. Not that I'm a fan of the big guys, but Primus is a crap outfit, IMO.

OP literally said this is a Costco deal, so obviously it won't be available unless you're a Costco member. Face With Rolling Eyes

Alright. Lets clarify some of those fine prints.

Costco booth.. not a Primus rep. 3rd party company who has never stepped into the DSL world or Cable. They are their to sell. Promise the world. Sometimes it wont happen.

All speeds are up to.*** DSL relies on home wirring. Distance and Quality of the neighborhood wirring.

Primus modems are not gaming wifi modems. If you want robust WIFI so you get less complaints from wifey... get your own router.

Primus and all other 3rd party companies do not support home wirring. Your house your wirring past the demarcation point.

Talk to your beighbors ..DSL vs Cable. Do your homework and stop looking at price only. Quality of support matters more. Less downtime.

I am with Carrytel cable connection. I know that my cable wirring is good in my neighborhood. Used to be with Rogers.. got tired of renegotiations. So dumped them.

I am in Ontario. Also. Do yourself a favor and call technical support first. See how long is the wait time. Type fake account number to get passed the IVR system.

Also ask if they throttle ports.. or p2p.. streaming. They usually do or give priority to streaming and voip traffic.

Best of luck all.

FYI.....
I saw this deal at Costco on bridge street (Montreal QC).
Same as what op said but it's 100mbs, not 1 gig.
The guy was really chill and explained me everything. Great service.
Anyways, unfortunately primus doesn't have service at my address so I can't use it. The guy said it uses cable Videotron service.

Primus is an awful company. I used have their service years ago and had some issues where I couldn't get service for a month. They didn't want to refund me and I had to fight them to get 50% of the cost. I hope their customer service changed but I highly doubt it.
I took a little journey to the unknown
And I've come back changed I can feel it in my bones
I chased RFD deals that many can't see
Now the 50% off pizza deal got a hold on me
