Thought this was a decent price for 25ft of 12/3 outdoor.

Thanks Op, might grab a few myself, about same price on Amazon but don't need to wait for shipping. Amazon also has the amazonbasics brand 12/3 50ft for $30 and 100ft for $60.

Good price considering that I never had one make it through the winter without cracking badly from the cold and I bought a lot of them. These would be excellent if only used indoors or not exposed to extreme cold.

If you bought at Princess Auto, you should return it.

yeah I was gonna say, princess auto at least my local takes just about anything back. Didn't realize these were low quality as the sheath seemed pretty durable. Oh well. seemed ok for 20 bucks. I was getting down on extension cords.

Not worth my time to take back as it does not come out of my pocket. We get 10- 15 of these to plug trucks during the winter. They work but will crack left outside. Some of the units have had better luck keeping them in the cab during the day so maybe its a uv light with the cold thing.

Weird, I got one of these last fall and had it outside all winter and it's in perfect condition, no cracking or anything.

You might want to look at "winter grade" extension cords to plug your vehicles in over the winter. That's what we use at work and I've never seen one crack. Some of the insulation on the cheap extension cords will literally shatter below -30.
