[Princess Auto] Metal Hose Shut off adapter $7.99

Was looking for a Hose Shut off adapter for my garden hose and found these in the Surplus section at Princess Auto (Markham) - end aisle near the washrooms.

Good things about this shut off
> metal construction
> one handed THUMB CONTROL on/off shut off. Most of the shut offs require two hands to turn it on/off

There's only one review on the site...no reason given for the 1 star. Says LIFETIME WARRANTY for what it's worth.

Dollarama has a similar one for $3 or $4 branded as Ray Padula I believe.

Never seen it....what location? Recent sighting? $3-$4 is good...I'd buy a few of them. This was a Ray Padula branded.

Not worried about the 1 star. At PA, no sale is ever final!

Yes...if you want to change nozzles perhaps or if you're not using any nozzle at all, you can shut your water off without walking back to the valve.

I find that these connectors can be restrictive because they have a small inner diameter. I think the only quick connector that isn't restrictive is by Eley. Expensive, no water stop, and not available in Canada.

They had some at the Dollarama at Lebovic/Eglinton yesterday. Along with the same brand hose splitter.

You can get full port quick connects at Lowes, but I'm not particularly fond of the quality and feel of them. I use a set of these for the pressure washer.

Besides, most residential outdoor faucet/sillcocks/valves are not full port, so you already have a bottleneck before the quick releases anyway.

Gardena makes the best quick release connectors but it's not full-port, though it's fine for regular gardening use.

Protip: you don’t have to walk back if you want to change the attachment. You can depress the trigger on the attachment as you screw it in or you can link the hose to stop the flow as you change attachments.
