[Princess Auto] Trunk mount bike rack $24.99 - save 55% from $59.99

Decent bike rack (trunk mount) for its price. We have one and drive around with it just fine, but even though they say 3 bikes, I feel that is a bit too much for it to handle, 1 or 2 bikes should have no problem.

PA raises the min shipping requirement now to $100, so might be easier to get in store pickup for free, unless you're buying with something else.

P.S : this is a normal/cheap model, so obviously it cannot compare to brand name like Thule, but you're just paying a tenth of Thule's price ;)

What type of car did you install this in? Would it fit an SUV?

As someone that is looking to get their first ever bike mount, what's the difference between this "cheap" model and one from Thule?

Thanks OP! Bought one for that low low price, I can't even find a deal like this on amazon. Will test and update RFD once I pickup - hoping it's good enough that I don't have to spend more on the rack than my bike lol

We have a similar one. It does start to wear away at paint where clips connect to car. You may want to wrap them in a protective material of some sort.

is there a lock for the release?

And you can still store 1 bike inside the trunk after installing this rack?

Did you mean the straps? If so, it has flexible rubber straps to lock/hook indeed.

If you can slot a bike in your trunk, yes. Both of my cars can still open the trunks after installing/mounting the rack (without bikes, obviously Face With Tears Of Joy)

Does it work? Is it sturdy enough to carry 3 bikes.
Bikes won't fall off in the road? For the price it's an amazing deal, however I'm afraid of the weight of 3 bikes. Will it hold tge weight?

From the picture I don't even know how it attaches to an SUV or Hatchback.

Yes.
Even the ad says so, it's unlikely from my personal judgment.
Haven't happened to me yet.
Depends on how heavy it carries.

Wow, I would never trust that rack... pressure point on the glass? One hard bump and you might need a new window.

OP could you show us a picture of it on your forester? Also have a forester would make figuring out a whole lot easier!

A good bike rack is worth the investment if you care about you bike. The cheap ones can scratch the hell out of your rig and be flimsy.

OP, what do you do to prevent scratches from the hooks? Does this model have some protective material to prevent damage to paint?

Thank you for post. I'm on the verge to order one. Been eyeing for sometime!
