Long time lurker, forst time poster.
I was in the market for a bike lock and logically, the first thing I did was to turn to the LockPickingLawyer on Youtube. Turns out I was able to find the bike locks he uses on his own bike, the Kryptonite Evolution 4, with a 45% discount from a canadian retailer (Probikekit). The same lock sells for 160$ on Amazon.

EDIT: Shipping is 20$ though, still a good deal.

How does this stack up to the Kryptonite New Yorker U-Lock? With enough time, any lock can be broken into.... so would it be quicker to cut through this chain lock or a heavy duty U-Lock?

According to the LPL, it would be more difficult to cut a chain-type bike lock as it is more flexible, thus harder to get a stable cutting position.

I don't bike but came to comment and upvote because of the LPL connection. Thanks OP.

NB
I shop regularly from Bike24 and this lock is currently 50 euro ($70 CDN) with 20 euro shipping. I have been hit with duties from probikekit but never from Bike24 as long as the order was under $100 CDN. Parcels shipped with DHL in Europe but arrived by Canada Post to my door.

I bought a kryptonite u lock (Your text to link here...) in September but I probably would have bought the lock that the OP posted if I had to make my decision now. I’m not sure what everyone’s experience has been with their guarantee but I paid around $30 for their 5 year anti-theft protection program. My bike is around $1400 so i figured it was a good “insurance” plan and hopefully they do pay out if my bike were to get stolen

This. OP this is not a Canadian retailer. It is a scammy British retailer that disguises itself as a domestic Canadian retailer with 1) its .ca domain name, 2) its pricing in Canadian dollars, and 3) its hiding of the fact it will stiff you with surprise customs brokerage, taxes, and duties on an obscure part of the website that you wouldn't think to click on. I'd stay away from this company until it becomes more transparent about what it's doing.

Though not a Canadian retailer, ProBikeKit and Chain Reaction (and Merlin and Wiggle, ...) can have better selection and prices than available domestically.

I'll agree the shipping options are not transparent. The cheaper options usually end up with Canada Post doing the last mile. Taxes are collected on bigger shipments, with a processing fee of $8-10. That's pretty reasonable for a set of wheels, for example. Shipments valued in the $100 range typically come right through to the community mailbox.

I've not personally been dinged with egregious brokerage fees or duties, but that's a risk with some of the couriers and their varied products . Moreover, duties (distinct from taxes and potentially much higher %) could apply to some goods categories (clothing?).

Shipping times can be lengthy with the cheaper options (~2 weeks). I've not had to do returns but that would be another level of overhead and shipping costs.

I'd like to add that even with the customs and duties fees, some items might end up being cheaper than buying on a Canadian sites. This was the case with my GP5000.

True as that may be, I still would not buy from this company because I consider them to be scammers. It's definitely not an accident that they have a .ca domain, Canadian dollar pricing, and the info about buyers having to pay their own customs fees buried in a part of the website that few would think to click on. They are doing that intentionally to fool us into thinking we are buying domestically from a Canadian company that has product in Canada. IMO foreign companies that pull stuff like this they don't deserve our business even if the prices are good.

There's a link, front and centre on their webpage, which takes you to this:

CANADA DELIVERY INFORMATION

Tax & Duty Charges
As we ship from the UK, if your delivery address is outside of the UK, you may have to pay import duties and taxes, which are levied once the shipment reaches your country. All international shipments may be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities while customs policies vary widely from country to country. You must meet any additional charges for customs clearance and we recommend that you contact your local customs office for further information.

That link is not front and centre, it's way down on the bottom of the page, and it says "Import Tax & Duty Charges", which if you thought this was a Canadian site and you were ordering for delivery to Canada, you wouldn't think to click on. It's designed intentionally that way for us to not see it. It's a scam.

Not when I look at the site. What link? What does your link say? Can you post a screen shot?
