I'm in the market as well. Leaning towards the benq ht series. (2050 or 3050) but they are just outside my price range. Also looking at the Epson 2040. I'm looking to use mine outdoors as well for watching sports at night.

Any recommendations on when to buy? No black Friday deals anytime soon?

Picked up that BenQ last fall for my home theatre. I mainly use it for gaming right now and have no complaints about the picture quality. I use 110" screen, picture is smooth and bright with no lag. My only issue was ceiling placement with the limited throw range but for the price it is still easily one of the best options out there.
