PS3 Dual Shock 3 Controllers $59.99 tax free + free shipping

Just spotted this on http://us.yesasia.com/en/index.aspx

Just search for Dual Shock 3.

They have the Ceramic White (JP version) and Black Dual Shock 3 for sale, $59.99. You don't have to pay taxes since it's imported from Asia, and the shipping is free. It might take a while to ship, but hey, it's free international shipping.

PS: They also have the Satin Silver one for sale for $69.99 if anyone is interested.

Good deal. I just placed my order for a white one.

Use this coupon to get an extra $5 off: ISYA247
Found it off the internet, worked for me.

What is the official release date for NA? Is the button layout the same on all region controllers?

I paid $61.60 for a DS3 from play-asia.com. It took around 2 weeks to get and had no duties/taxes. I also think it is head and shoulders above the six axis controller. Awesome purchase.
That's 30 minutes away, I'll be there in 10.

No official release date yet, which is fracking crazy.

Rumors are if/when they retire the 40gb spiderman bundle and the 80gb motorsotrm bundle and replace them with a 40gb and 120gb system SKU's they will include the DS3, it is rumored this will be sometime in May/June. Another rumor is around the time MGS4 launch, which also has no release date yet.

Of course it is! It'll be oddly comical if it wasn't. :cheesygri

Just a note, although it is tax free at time of purchase, you may have to pay for customs (aka taxes) when it enters the country.

just out of curiousity, what makes this controller head and shoulders above the current one? Isn't it exactly the same but with vibration? Can we get some feedback from people that's tried both? I'm just curious that's all, I'm not trying to knock the DS3.

The triggers and analog sticks have been tweaked making the controls more precise and they just work better. Also the extra weight and better quality plastic and build make the controller more comfortable and sturdy.

The Six Axis is a piece of cheap junk by comparison.

Yes, vibration is the main draw. Some people also like the added weight of the vibration motors. Apparently weight is synonymous with quality to some degree.

Having both, I'll say that vibration is better than none, particularly when I'm playing through PS2 classics on my PS3, where the lack of vibration was particularly irksome prior to my DS3 purchase. As for the weight... Well, lighter is better for a handheld input device in my opinion. *shrug*

Ordered, thanks!

If it does have more weight than the Sixaxis, that's great. I prefer the heft of the 360 controller. The Sixaxis feels like a toy by comparison.

decent deal but the play-asia deal is still good.

I bought mine off a user on RFD for 50 new to avoid shipping and waiting.

Its a good controller (more weight makes it feel better), and the analog feels better too.

My gf got me a black ds3 for valentine's day. Its so cool haha... Anyways the only difference I feel is that it is more heavier, has rumble, and uses more battery. It does kind of feel higher quality with the added weight. For example, playing the bowling game feels much better since it is heavier.

I got one.
It's not really tax free... you don't have to pay the sales tax in asia, but when it gets to custom, they'll tax you.

I think they have been selling the DS3 controller @59.99 for a long time. I did saw a thread about the contoller a while back.

If my memory is correct, users from previous thread said that they have to pay custom tax for around $10-$15 when it arrive from the post office.

It is still a good deal compare to most store still selling the Sixaxis @59.99 before tax.

FYI:
The controller is selling @ around $345 HKD (around $45 CND) in Hong Kong, so if you can wait and have friend from HK, or friends going there, have them pick one up for cheap.

Take advanage of the exchange rate because of CDN is strong. A friend got me a DS3 for $44CND.
