PS4 account transfer question

I currently have a single ps4 with both my son and I having our own profile and specific games downloaded. I am looking to get my own PS4 - so am I able to transfer just my profile and some specific games to the new 2nd system?

Thanks!

You'll want to "gameshare" with your son's PS4. That means, setting the other PS4 as a "primary" for your account, setting the new PS4 as your son's "primary" and then logging in. This way, you'll each have access to the games you've purchased/redeemed.

This article explains it better: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/ho ... re-on-ps4/

If you have PS+ you should have access to cloud saves, so it should technically just be available when you login to the new PS4.
If that's not enabled yet for some reason, here's how to enable it: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/get-h ... station-4/

Thanks for the info.

So when i start setting up the new system, should i use the same existing account name/password?

You'll want two accounts... your existing account, and one for your son.

So you'll have two accounts set up:

  • Current PS4: Your current account that you use will be set as the "primary" account on this PS4 (which might already be the case now). You can then add your son's account as well.
  • New PS4: Your son's PS4 account will be set as the "primary" account on this PS4. You can then log in as your own account on this one.

This way, you *should* be able to share games across both PS4s.

If anyone else has any info or tips or correction, please feel free to post

It'll be interesting to see how gamesharing works moving forward with the current and next gen consoles. I saw in an Insider's update on my Xbox that they'll be allowing multiple sign ins to multiple consoles, which I assume will be for people who are using multiple generations of consoles, but there's obviously no way to test it right now...
