PS5 Disc Version for 68600 Avion Points // Digital for 53900

Alright hear me out.

RBC has 30% off CF Mall Gift Cards (can be used at EB Games) and 30% off source giftcards.

I went to EB Games this morning and put a $100 deposit on the machine. Total is about $710

I used 68600 points for $700 worth of CF cards that I will apply on November 12.

68600 is not that valuable these days with covid and the gift cards cover the PS5 and the taxes. The EB rep said on the day of he can refund the $100 and use the card but I won't do that anyways because i am buying call of duty the same day.

So.. YMMV I guess but $700 gift cards to be used for PS5 at the cost 68000 avion points was a sweet deal as j did not have to pay $700 for the machine !!

What a horrendous deal. Hotels.com gift cards were 35k miles for $500 for the past month. You could easily offload those to Cardswap and get cash in exchange.

This is avion not air miles or whatever you're talking about.

50000 avion gets you $500 hotels. That's $1 per 100 points

This is $700 for 68600. That's just over $1 per 100 points and there's no need to trade cards .

He's not talking about air miles, he's talking about Avion:

also doesn't mean one should waste all their Avion points now on a bad redemption.

You can redeem at 1cpp on most cards any day of the week. And here you get 1.02cpp. Still a horrendous deal; -1

Whatever guys

I just got a PS5 and in the end I didn't have to drop $734. I don't even use my avion anymore I only use my platinum amex as much as possible. But whatever to each their own! I'm sure at least one other person was happy they didn't have to spend any cash on a PS5. Goodluck !

This is the caveat of points system, in the end it feels like free money and you stop calculating how much you spent to get them and how much they are worth when you spend them

Glad you are happy. Other people can see it as a bad redemption value and / or it is like spending cash (since the points could have been spent on other things that would have been purchased with cash).

This is a bad deal as you recently you could redeem for other gift cards at a value of. 1.42x.

This deal barely values each point at 1 cent per point.

Might as well say "Sign up for new CC with 10% cash back, get new PS5 for $450"
