It's nice when you have 2 controllers, and really, just looks nicer. No, they aren't necessary in any way.

Sounds like a personal finance issue of yours not really our problem. Most of us don't mind spending $40 on something that is better - that's why its been sold out since release.

I use these magnetic USB C, Micro USB cables to charge everything including the PS5 controller. Not wireless but these are so convenient, no fiddling with the hole, just dangle the cable and the magnet is so strong finds the attach adapter for instant connection:

I had a wireless charging dock for PS4 but sold it away after getting PS5.

Thanks for sharing OP! I’ve been looking on all major retailers since launch and it’s always out of stock.

And to address the “included USB” questions, the PS5 is having issues where it is disabling the front USB port in rest mode (regardless of console settings) meaning you have to leave the console on to charge... and I have 3 controllers, lol.

Snagged one and paid extra for express shipping in case they over sell the SKU before mine is processed.

Well he did ask what was wrong with the cable. So I think he wants to know what is better about the charger. Looks? Does it charge faster?

Nothings wrong with it. It's more convenient and practical to have a the dual charger when you have two controllers. It's also cleaner, you don't have more USB cables lying round the house. Does not charge faster either.

Nothing is wrong with using the cable if you don't want to spend $40. Nothing is also wrong if you have $40 and want to spend it to have a nice stand that matches the console aesthetics and gives you a place to store the controllers when not in use (and have them charged and good to go at all times). It's been hard to get so OP found some and has shared it.

Not every PS5.
I've been charging my PS5 controller in rest mode since day 1.

Nothing. The charging station looks nice, cleans up your setup and reduces wear and tear on the USB C port by using the bottom of the controller to charge instead,. If you have two controllers, you can charge both of them at once and keep them both topped off at all times. Also if you did buy another dualsense controller, it doesn't come with a cable to charge with.

Thats the only benefit I see of buying this. I don't like leaving my PS5 on rest mode just to charge the controller overnight.

Yes this charges on a wall outlet.

I just got those, they're the best. Wish every connector was just made like that
