PSA: Avoid buying prepaid cellular top up cards at petro canada

I went to buy a chatr card today and they tacked on a $1 transaction fee. Attendant said it was introduced corporately. Applies to all cell phone prepaid cards. Not sure about their other gift cards.

Hmmmm methinks that's probably worth a phone call to Chatr to see if it violates their vendor agreement.

So what did you do? Buy it or get one from somewhere else?

Which location did you go to, so people can verify that it applies Canada-wide?

Did you contact PetroCan to ask?

.
Damn, I just remembered the old days, of buying Fido refill cards. I used to get my sister in Calgary to buy them for me, since there is no PST there, and getting them from Staples when they had 15% off coupons.

Was already too late. Paid. No refund after that. Attendant said it was all petros. I emailed chatr to complain. Let’s see what happens.
